Lovell Hockey is proud to announce the 4th Annual Summer Combine will return to Pilgrim Arena in Hingham, MA this year from June 23-26, 2014 for the U14's and U16's, and July 28-31, 2014 for the U19's. Formerly known as The Boston Advantage Summer Combine, this year it will transition under the Lovell Hockey nametag.
Our combine is is unrivaled by any other summer hockey options, because of the unique setup that we provide the players. While summer tournaments have been the common route taken by bantam and midget players for years in an effort to be recruited by college coaches, our combine showcases an alternate method. We place you ON THE ICE with those very same NCAA coaches that you hope catch a glimpse of one of your shifts at a large tournament. Each day, we have a minimum of 2-3 different NCAA Division I and Division III coaches on the ice instructing, scouting, and building personal relationships with our combine students. In the past four years, we have had numerous college commitments take place on-site at our combine, and dozens of relationships between players and coaches were built that translated into recruitment visits and eventually commitments. The overall mission of our Summer Combine is to provide the players with direct exposure over the week, where college coaches can be on ice-level with the recruits in the morning, and behind the bench during gameplay in the afternoon.
-Each age group is comprised of 8 teams (9 Forwards, 6 Defensemen, 2 Goaltenders)
-Each team will practice in the morning. Practices will be run by our NCAA Division I and Division III coaches. Games will be played in the afternoon/evening. Games will be coached by our NCAA Division I and Division III coaches.
-All-Star Game selections will take place after practices on Thursday. Combine All-Stars will be selected by the NCAA coaches who have had the ability to scout and interact with the players over the first three days.
-All-Star Game will take place in the afternoon on Thursday. In previous years, outside coaches and scouts from the NHL, NCAA, USHL, and Major Junior have attended our camp All-Star Game.

The Advantage Ice program is looking for a few players at the 2002 Elite level and 2002 AAA level to finish up the remainder of the 2013-2014 season. The Advantage Ice, formerly the Middlesex Braves, became an independent program this season, and continue to flourish against formidable opponents.
If you are interested in joining the 2002 Elite or 2002 AAA team this season, please reach out to Rob Himberg, Director of Hockey Operations at email@example.com. Thank you!
The Advantage Ice program has elected to cancel all practices that are regularly scheduled for Halloween night, this Thursday 10/31. Our players have been working extremely hard lately, and have experienced great results. The players will get Thursday off, and gear up for a big weekend of hockey!
The newly formed Advantage Ice Elite 2002 team swept the Peewee Minor division of the Summer Cool-Off Tournament in Hooksett, New Hampshire in their first weekend of play. There were 7 teams in the 2002 bracket, and the Advantage Ice defeated the Central Mass Outlaws, American Youth Northstars, and Bay State Breakers in Round Robin play.
On playoff Sunday, the 02's rolled past the New Hampshire Avalanche, setting themselves up for a rematch in the finals with a tough Central Mass Outlaws squad. In the Championship Game, the boys continued to work, and brought home the hardware! This championship was the first ever for the Advantage Ice program in as many tries. Congratulations to Coach Cutone and the 2002 Advantage Ice team!
With the 2013 season set to begin next month, the staff at Lovell Hockey is happy to announce the addition of a new, independent program for the upcoming season. Lovell Hockey and the Boston Advantage introduced the Lovell Knights hockey club this summer, and now will add the Advantage Ice to our family. Formerly the Middlesex Braves, the Advantage Ice are a full program from mites through midgets, and set to begin in the 2013-2014 season. Our practices and home games will take place at the waterfront Porrazzo Rink in East Boston.
“We are excited to add the Advantage Ice to the Lovell’s Hockey umbrella of camps and teams” noted Rob Himberg, Director of Advantage Ice and Head Instructor for Lovell Hockey Schools. “We will mirror the success of our sister program, the Boston Advantage, with skill development and highly competitive games against strong opponents.”
The Advantage Ice will field independent teams at the 2005 Elite, 2003 Elite, 2002 Elite, 2002 AAA and 2000 Elite levels. The U14s will play in the Advantage U14 Bantam Program and the U16 Split will play in several of the top tournaments.

The 2005 Advantage Ice kicked off their inaugural season in impressive fashion at the Mite Major Pre-Season Super Series in Marlboro.
The Ice opened up the tournament against the the defending EHF champion Minuteman Flames. The kids battled hard only to see the game slip away from them in the third period where they would suffer their only loss of the tournament 10-5. The kids bounced back the next morning with a solid team performance and a dominating 12-3 win over the NY Cyclones. Later that afternoon the Ice held off a pesky South Shore Kings team 7-3. With no time to rest on their recent success the Ice would be tested again on Sunday when they were matched up against two of the best teams in the EHF. First up was a highly competitive game against a very talented Providence Capital's team. This game was not decided until the closing minutes where the Ice prevailed 6-5 with a late goal and some timely goaltending. The final game of the tournament was against a very talented Middlesex Islander club with the Ice pulling away late in this contest to secure a 5-1 win and closed out this highly competitive tournament with an overall record of 4 wins and 1 loss.
